Testimonials

Margaret Crichton

I employed Maura Bisset to help me design a new 3 bedroomed house in Midlothian.

From the moment I first met I knew she was the architect for me. We banded ideas around and she came up with great initial plans that we continued to tweak together until we came up with the perfect design. It is a difficult plot and I had a limited budget. She listened with patience to my odd requests and always managed to find a way to include them into her designs.. (the living room had to be big enough to do an eightsome reel!)

She is imaginative, collaborative just down right brilliant. The house is starting to take shape and it’s looking really great I can’t wait to see it finished. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Rita and Allan Burns CBE

We engaged Ms Bissett to carry out two extensive projects , firstly in our Flat , Eglinton Crescent ,Edinburgh, and followed that successful build with a major extension to our principal home just outside StAndrews.
We were looking to appoint an architect that understood our ambition for both properties, was a creative thinker with high standards of professionalism and had experience of working across trades, ensuring we had good value for money without compromising the quality of the build.
The preparity work , project planning and the appointment of builders was terrific, supported by excellent communication to both potential contractors and my wife and I . Both builds required sound knowledge of planning protocols and listed building requirements and Ms Bissett guided us smoothly through the rigours of these processes.
The final works were completed within our agreed timescale and the costs managed within our budget envelope with overruns as a result of our modifications made as we were able to see the builds develop from drawings to reality.
The final outcome was one of happiness of what was achieved and much enriched living areas to both homes.
We would recommend Ms Bissett to any future clients and are happy to show images of the builds
