About
As a qualified Architect I have almost 25 years experience with established practices based in Edinburgh including Benjamin Tindall Architects, META, JTP and early years with PJMP, Groves Raines Architects and John Renshaw Architects. I have a track record for the successful delivery of high-quality complex projects, working with design teams through detail design stages and on-site construction.
As an associate at Benjamin Tindall Architects, I worked extensively with historic buildings and Heritage projects, and developed an understanding of building conservation and sustainable design principles and practice. Notably I was responsible for the detail design and construction stages of two New Wings to Bonnington House a B Listed property at Jupiter Artland, Ratho for a private client which was short listed in 2015 for the RIBA, RICS and EAA Awards.
More recently with META architecture I have managed a number of listed building projects, converting and renovating a Category B listed property in the New town to a family home for modern living with high quality contemporary interiors over four floors and a substantial renovation to the wing of a Georgian Villa in the Blacket conservation area.
My earlier career includes an Associate role at John Thompson and Partners, working at the front end of the design process developing mixed-use masterplans in the UK and leading the technical design and delivery of large housing regeneration projects, compliant with code for sustainable homes. I have been instrumental in several design charettes and Community Planning events in the UK.
I am a visiting tutor with ESALA in the technology and environment department and have taught at both ECA and Napier University. I have a particular interest in sustainability and retrofit and I am a member of SEDA. As a sole practitioner I work independently and collaboratively with other Architects.
